Wow, Strazzabosco!
The last few days have been a whirlwind of information for me. :)
First, I was contacted by Mary, who found me while searching for her family, through all things, this blog. (!) Mary then connected me with (distant cousin) Nancy, who claims Pietro Nardin's (my great grandmothers brother) line, and then to Barth Cunico, who is a veritable wealth of information, and has just given me three generations of Strazzabsoco's I did not know. All in three days!!
My initial intention for this blog is simply to record how I search, my leads and dead ends, and those precious few successes. So now I'll be working on the Strazzabosco's, and hoping that Barth can find more info on the Paganini's and Nardin's as well. He (and I) both find it amazing that he had ONE Nardin listed in his research, and lo and behold, it is my very own great great grandfather Giovanni Nardin (who even I did not know of until just recently.)
So, through Barth, I know have all the children of my 2nd great grandparents, and then some. Mary (Anna Maria) Strazzabosco Nardin's parents (my 3rd great grandparents) were Modesto Strazzabosco (B. 1834 Asiago D ?) and Caterina Carli (B 17 Apr 1832 Asiago D 18 Apr 1890 Asiago) who had not just great great grandma Mary, but also: Stephano (1858-?) Marco (1862-1873) Paolo (1865-1866) Angela (1868-1899) Giovanna Maria (1870-1871) Marco (1875-?) and Luigi (1876-1877). Unfortunately, it seems the only one who could have made it to adulthood were Anna Maria, Angela, and possibly Marco, simply because I do not know his death date.
Modesto's parents were Stefano Strazzabosco and Anna maria Mosele. They had several children as well, but records are not readily available for dates. Their children were: Antonia, Domenica, Maria, Antonio, Modesto, Marco, Domenico, and Caterina.
I also was given just the names of my 5th great grandparents, Modesto Strazzabasco and Maria Mosele, their only known children being Stefano and Maria.
Nancy says "My great grandfather Giovanni Pesavento was married to Maria Mosele and when she passed away he married a Caterina Strazzabosco. Valerie mentions a Strazzabosco in her blog. Maybe we're actually related somehow." Oh, we most definately are. There are too many Mosele and Strazzabsoco marriages here to not be. You know, with all the names here, and all the children, you'd think my family was 95% of the population of Asiago. LOL. It makes me wonder if I could randomly choose someone from the city to send a letter to and be related. HaHa.
Just because I think it's funny:
There are 12 people listed in Asiago white pages with the last name Paganini, 24 Nardin, 3 Barra, and 22 Strazzabosco. LOL. I should pick one.
